Diego Luna in Andor

Disney have shared a new clip from their latest Star Wars spin-off series, Andor, starring
Diego Luna and Stellan Skarsgård. The three-episode premiere begins streaming on September 21 only on Disney+.

Set five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Andor follows the adventures of Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion. He’s on a journey to discover how he can possibly help to change things in the galaxy as the rebellion continues growing in a bid to fight off the power that is the Empire.

Joining Luna and Skarsgård in the series are Genevieve O’Reilly (Tin Star), Alex Ferns (The Batman), Adria Arjona (Good Omens), Denise Gough (Under the Banner of Heaven), Kyle Soller (Poldark), and Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve). Forest Whitaker is also set to reprise his role as Saw Gerrera.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Luna said: “I think it’s really interesting to tell a story even though we know where it ends. The way you can approach a story like this inevitably takes you into a deeper process of reflection. I tend to use that word a lot. So once you know what Cassian is capable of, then there’s room for so much exploration, and that’s something that excites me a lot as an actor. I think the format of a series is amazing because we have a lot of time to explore all those layers.”

A second season of Andor has already been confirmed and is in development. The plot of the first season will take place over the course of one year, with season two taking place over four years. The final episode of season two is reportedly said to lead straight into the events of Rogue One.
